This week's question is: The New Year is here -- and everyone wants to know your New Years Blogging Resolution! What are you going to try to revise, revamp and redo for 2012 on your blog?

MY ANSWER: Ooh toughie. I just redesigned my blog this year and I really like its look now so it probably won't be changing. I'm not totally sure what I'll do to my blog otherwise. I've been doing more weekly memes lately, so I guess I'll stick with that. Basically I might just keep on doing what I'm doing and trying to be active in the blogosphere!

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week's question is: First & Last: What was the first book you read in 2011 and the last you finished in 2011? How do you feel about these books? Would you recommend them to other readers?

MY ANSWER: Wow! What a year it's been! Well the first two reviews I had posted were from e-ARCs I read later in December or even earlier. So my first book and review of 2011 was My Soul to Steal! And boy was that a fab read!! I would sooooo recommend this to others, but first I must stress the importance of reading the earlier books! This is definitely a series that must be read in chronological order!

My last book is actually my current read and it's an e-ARC as well. Right now I'm reading Firelight by Kristen Callihan. But since this is a 2012 release, I guess I could say the last 2011 book I read this year was Silver-Tongued Devil! It was actually another e-ARC that released this week--according to Amazon at least!

Random Thursday

New Year's Eve. Normally people have parties or do some other get together gathering. And yet, I feel like a failure to my generation. People my age, 24, are normally going to parties or something right? Me, no. I'm not much of a partyer. I have a hard time being social as it is. I do try, but it's hard for me for reasons.

So my New Year's Eve will likely be spent at home and that doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that I am usually so lame that I end up falling asleep around 10 or so. I don't really stay up late anymore either. I used to as a kid, but not anymore.

So really my plans are not having plans. It may seem a little depressing--and I think this too--yet it doesn't bother me that much. I like quiet nights at home just watching TV or movies, maybe playing a game or two--of course you usually need more people for that. But I don't know yet, maybe my cousins might come over or something.

But I figure even with my lameness and going to bed at 10, it's gotta be New Years somewhere, right? Maybe...I don't know, can't recall all the time differences. Know it's 11 in NYC at that time. Oh well!

DNF Review

Even a vampire has to face her inner demons…

Kat Redding is the very thing she hunts: a vampire, thirsting for blood, capable of killing any creature unlucky enough to get in her path. The difference is, Kat kills her own kind in order to protect human Purebloods. She’s good at what she does. Good enough to earn the nickname Lady Death—and the enmity of every bloodthirsty being around. But now a vampire Count is intent on merging his House with a werewolf cult to create a force of terrifying power.

Kat can’t allow that to happen. Even if it means taking on a den of weres and a vampire more ruthless than any she’s encountered before. She has the weapons, the skill, and a few allies. But that may not be enough to eliminate the Count before her own dark nature rises to the surface—and costs her whatever is left of her humanity…

So I got To Walk the Night by E.S. Moore for review awhile back and tried to start it last week. It didn't go so well. Maybe it was due to upcoming holidays or the fact that my niece was home instead of at school--and being loud like any 3 year old! There's probably a lot of factors that kept me from finishing this one. I read over 100 pages, and I liked it, yet I just couldn't fall into it.
It has a dystopian settin, in a future where vamps and weres rule the night and humans live in fear. I didn't get much further than that really. Kat was just getting recruited by a strange bunch and she was uneasy about working for them.
So I decided to put it aside for now. Not sure when I'll get to it since my TBR pile grows constantly. But I'm going to keep it and try to give it ago another day.

So since I didn't finish this one, I'm not going to rate it with star quality. It definitely has a lot of potential. I just need to be in a better frame of mind to read it.

Cover Art--Two Titles

Definitely like the cover! Looks freaking awesome, hope the story will be just as good this time around!

Kitty Steals the Show releases July 12, 2012

Half-werewolf, half-Aedh Risa Jones can enter the realm between life and death, and she can see the Reapers who collect the souls of the dead. Now, she is using her gifts—and the investigative know-how of a man who broke her heart—to find a cabal searching for the power to control time, reality, and fate. And this is besides her work for the Vampire Council, half of whom want her dead.

But for now the Council needs her alive. Someone is killing blood-whore addicted vampires, and Risa must find the guilty party. If she succeeds, she may finally convince the council to lift the execution order on her life. But before she succeeds, she must first survive…

Not so crazy about this one. For one thing it differs from the other US ones. I like seeing more of Risa's wings, but there's something about this one that just makes me think blah. Still gonna read it though!!!

From Hachette Books via Netgalley I got for review:

Firelight by Kristen Callihan (e-ARC)

So basically everything I had on my list--book related! I also got a few more gift cards to B&N from a few people as well! It was a good Christmas!

Then not book related necessarily but still freaking awesome I got this:

The new iPod nano!! I actually had the first generation iPod nano but there was a recall with it--can't really remember what, but anyway when I sent it in, this is what I got in return!!

Sure my old one was awesome and even had an inscription on the back from when I got in Xmas 2005, but this is the latest one! And I was able to get my music back on it easy peasy!

Hope everyone has a fabulous holiday and gets lots of goodies from dear old Santa Claus!

Cover Art-Charlaine Harris

The cover art for the next Sookie Stackhouse novel is up on goodreads. I will likely buy it towards May just because I know the series is nearly over and I wanna see how it all ends!

It's definitely interesting, I love the color scheme though!

From Charlaine's blog, Sookie gets kidnapped and a character (a man) that Charlaine thought was dead, isn't.

Sounds kinda interesting too! Deadlocked releases May 1, 2012

This week's topic is: If you had to spend eternity inside the pages of a book which book would you choose and why?

MY ANSWER: Ooh tough one! Hmm...I kinda think I would like to live in the Hollows in Kim Harrison's books! Basically the world is pretty much the same just with the supernatural creatures coming out and all. I think it would be cool!

Of course I also wouldn't object to living in the world of Harry Potter! That's just freaking awesome too! Of course I would want to be a witch! Otherwise it wouldn't be any fun!

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week's topic is: Dear Santa: Which books made it to your Christmas wish list this year?

MY ANSWER: Ooh quite a few actually! I asked for:

Destined by Jessie Harrell
The Shadow Reader by Sandy Williams
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (B&N Hardcover Classic edition)

And those are the ones that I can remember. Technically I should have "forgotten" about them so Santa can bring them! And of course I always say bookstore gift cards are appreciated too!

Random Thursday

Can you believe it's almost Christmas already?! It's insane! I swear, once Halloween comes around the corner, the rest of the year does fly by! And it's insanely hard to stay eating healthy with all those holidays, plus birthdays in between!
But anyway today I feel like rambling about a few of my fave traditions about Christmas!

First off and simply enough, I love baking Christmas cookies! We bake quite a variety every year and they're so good! My fave is the sugar cookie cutouts! They are a pain to make, part of the reason why we only make them once a year, but they are soooooo good! Especially with homemade icing!

My second tradition involves wrapping my older sister's gift! For the past several years, as long as I've been working I suppose...I've always disguised her gift! That involves double boxing and double wrapping! Still don't get tired of it!

My last tradition, which I'm pleased to say is still a go this year, is watching the 24 hour marathon of A Christmas Story! This was my fave, and still is, Christmas movie as a kid! Never get tired of it! Although my family does!

If you've never seen this movie, you should! You'll have ample amount of opportunity this weekend! The marathon runs on TBS, so check your local television provider for channel numbers and it starts at 7pm (CST) and it runs ALL day and night! Even at the awkward hours of 3am!
